A sequel?

I’m now partway into the sequel to ‘Blood and Blitzkrieg’. The story is set mostly in Occupied France, and I realised when I started writing it that I knew very little about what actually went on France during the war. Nothing like telling a story to expose your lack of knowledge!

The whole Vichy thing I found particularly confusing, which isn’t surprising really, because the more you read about it, the more you realise what a bizarre situation chock-full of hypocrisy the French found themselves in after losing to the Germans.

I’m now halfway through ‘The Unfree French’ by Richard Vinen, which is proving to be rather illuminating about life under the Nazis.
